My Journey

As a kid, Janeane discovered her voice in a creative writing class with Ms. Cady, who told her, “There are no wrong answers.” Once a D/F student, she found her creative voice and is now a dramedy writer known for the half-hour pilots P.M.S. Cleaning Service and Finding Ms. Katey, the feature film BIRDIE, and the shorts Low Battery and WYLE.

Research

In 1994, Janeane received her doctorate in Educational Media & Technology from Boston University's Curriculum and Teaching program. Her background in qualitative research, interviewing, and instructional design have been used in a variety of contexts and subject matter areas.

Her dissertation, Computer-Assisted College Choice Systems, used a multi-tiered data collection approach to determine how students in Massachusetts and Boulder, Colorado made their college choices and whether technology played a role in their decision-making.

Findings indicated that most students chose their colleges based on the opinions of their peers.
