Janeane received a 2021 Columbia University Journalism Fellowship to attend the The 2021 Age Boom Academy - "Combating Loneliness in Aging: Toward a 21st Century Blueprint for Societal Connectedness." The signature program of the Robert N. Butler Columbia Aging Center runs in partnership with the Columbia Journalism.

Janeane's short script, WYLE, is a FINALIST in the Big Apple Film Festival Screenplay Competition November 13, 2020. Her TV pilot, FINDING MS. Janeane's feature screenplay, BIRDIE, was a Finalist in the 2018 LA Femme International Film Festival, and an initial selection in the 2018 Black List / Women In Film Feature Lab. She is currently working on comedic short screenplays and pilots.

In 1994, Janeane received her doctorate in Educational Media & Technology from Boston University's Curriculum and Teaching program. Her background in qualitative research, interviewing, and instructional design have been used in a variety of contexts and subject matter areas.
Her dissertation, Computer-Assisted College Choice Systems, used a multi-tiered data collection approach to determine how students in Massachusetts and Boulder, Colorado made their college choices and whether technology played a role in their decision-making.
Findings indicated that most students chose their colleges based on the opinions of their peers.
